RENEWAL INFORMATION!!*
BROKERS. You need 16 credits for license renewal. Four (4) of those credits need to be the current mandatory course. The current Mandatory course is titled The Mandatory Course for 2008-2010 Renewal. Certificates must be dated between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2012.
SALESPERSONS. You also need 16 credits for license renewal. Four (4) of those credits need to be the current mandatory course. The current Mandatory course is titled The Mandatory Course for 2008-2010 Renewal. Certificates must be dated between June 1, 2008 and May 31, 2010.
EVERYONE must have their licenses renewed by the applicable deadline date - even if you've only had your license for a short period of time.
Becoming a Salesperson
In Vermont, you must be at least 18 years old and successfully complete a 40-hour salesperson pre-licensing course before taking the state exam. The Vermont Association of REALTORS® offers salesperson pre-licensing courses four (4) times a year – two day sessions and two evening sessions.

Examination Information

During each 2 year period salespersons and brokers must complete sixteen (16) hours of continuing education credits approved by the Vermont Real Estate Commission. Four (4) of those hours must include the 4-hour mandatory course, which is determined by the Vermont Real Estate Commission each renewal cycle. The next renewal date for brokers is March 31, 2012. The next renewal date for salespersons is May 31, 2010.

Licensed appraisers renew their licenses every two years (odd years) regardless of how long they've had their licenses. During the two years between license renewals, appraisers must complete twenty-eight (28) hours of approved continuing education credit, which must the 7-hour USPAP update. The next renewal date for appraisers is May 31, 2011
License renewal forms are mailed prior to renewal and must be returned on or before (not postmarked by) the applicable deadline date. Return the completed form with your continuing education certificates (be sure to make copies for your records!) and a check for the licensing fee made payable to State of Vermont to:
